Thank you to all who participated in Pianetta-palooza on October 18th. Our first annual Harvest BBQ party was a great time! The Shan Johnson band kept us rocking throughout the afternoon, and the open pit BBQ created some delicious appetizers and tri tip to keep us full! We also had a “corn toss” tournament which was dominated by club members Dan Hampton & Bart Ellerbroek! It came down to a battle between the all woman team and the all men team. Great job everyone. Our attendees were also able to take advantage of the awesome case discounts at the event.

 

There is already talk of planning the next year’s Pianetta-palooza, we can’t wait.

It’s official. The 2006 Petite Syrah has been released! The kick off to the release was at our Pianetta-palooza Harvest BBQ. We had several great comments about the wine! It is very full bodied with a medley of different flavors.  The color is dark and intense, with lavender and clove hints dominating the nose. Concentrated blueberry and dark berry flavors with hints of cranberry, anise and white pepper along with firm tannins give this wine a distinct long finish.

 

We are just getting ready to send out the November wine club shipment. We will be shipping this out on Monday November 3^rd.   This shipment will feature our new release, the 2006 Petite Syrah, as well as the 2004 Pianetta Syrah. Both of these wines feature 100% varietals. These are some outstanding hearty wines to kick off the holiday season!

If you are a will-call club member, our pick up party will be on Thursday, November 6^th from 6pm-8pm, we will be enjoying artisan cheeses and other culinary delights as always!

 

The first Saturday of each month we will be featuring a live artist in the tasting room. 5-7pm. The next live art exhibit will be featuring the black and white artwork of Dan Eaton on Saturday, November 1^st.

 

November 20-25^th. We will be having the Paso Robles Digital Film Festival. More information can be viewed at www.prdff.com. Pianetta will be sponsoring some events and is being ticketed as one of the “host locations” to go wine tasting in downtown Paso Robles! Come check out the buzz during the Film Festival!

 

December 2^nd, 2008. We will be the featured wine at the “Flights and Bites” night at Bernicks Steakhouse, 2 doors down from our Tasting Room in Downtown Paso Robles.

 

Early 2009 – Pianetta Winery will be hosting a “library” party. You will be able to taste and purchase some of our wines that are no longer available. This includes our 2002, 2003, & 2004 Pianetta Estate Cabernet, 2003 Pianetta Estate Syrah, and our 2004 Pianetta Sangiovese, and our 2004 Estate Bottled Bilancio. This is a rare occasion to taste aged wines, and also an educational opportunity to see how your current releases will hold up across years of aging. Time and Date TBD.
