Bilancio. Italian for "Balance." Our first blend, Bilancio started with this 2004 vintage. The concept was to create a distinct flavor from two very different varietals. The fruit intensity of the Cabernet paired with the mouth filling earthy Syrah blend together for a very rich and sophisticated red wine. This vintage reflected a 67% Syrah and 33% Cabernet blend. When we make our blends, we wait for the wine to age in the barrels for a year, and then we select our favorite barrels in each program to make the blend. The initial Bilancio (this vintage) was conceived one afternoon with family members over our Thanksgiving table. We were quite excited with the result.

The 2004 vintage has only gotten more complex with age. The layers in this wine are more subtle and delicate, while still maintaining the original full bodied mouthfeel and flavors.

Aged in all new french oak.
